For the second year in a row, The Consumer Advocacy site, NerdWallet, conducted a study analyzing the best cities to raise a family. Analyzing 109 cities in Indiana with 5,000 plus residents, four major factors were considered when crunching the data:
- Home affordability
- Prosperity and Growth
- Quality of education
- Family friendliness
The study revealed Westfield has the highest percentage of families with children in the state, and revealed these trends about Indiana:
- Capital communities – seven of the ten top cities in Indiana were around Indianapolis.
- Home values are high – In Indiana the high quality of life offsets higher housing prices.
- Larger cities dominate – Often in Midwest communities, smaller cities are best for young families. But in Indiana, the average population for the top 10 is 32,000.
