We are less than a week away from the biggest football game of the season and with that comes the even more exciting Super Bowl snacks! There is no better time or excuse to pig out on your favorite foods. For those of you hosting a Super Bowl party one of the best tips I can give you is to limit your menu to finger foods. Not only is it easier for the guests to grab bites between plays but it makes your clean up time infinitely faster. Here are a few of my favorite football themed appetizers that are sure to liven up even the liveliest of Super Bowl parties!
The first recipe is “Football Deviled Eggs“. For this simply make deviled eggs following your own recipe but to add some football flare slice up some chives. Arrange the chives so that it creates the same pattern as the laces on a football. This is a super easy step that adds a big impact.
When you think finger foods and football you can’t go wrong with pizza and with a few simple additions you can create a “Football Pizza” perfect for your party. I choose to use a pre-made pizza crust. Add pizza sauce, cover entirely with cheese and then place pepperonis on top in the shape of a football. On top of the football place strips of cheese, I have found the easiest to control is using mozzarella string cheese. Then back and enjoy!
Another easy to make and easy to eat football treat is cheese, meat, and crackers. This is not so much a recipe as it is a show and tell of how to cut and decorate. Simply stack a cracker, cheese, and meat with the meat and cheese cut into a football shape. Once you have the crackers assembled pipe on small amounts of ranch dressing in the shape of the football laces. (Tip: I put a couple of heaping spoonfuls of ranch into a Ziploc bag. Cut a small hole in the corner to use as a quick and disposable piping bag.)
No party is complete without something sweet! This year make something different with the Peanut Butter Football Dip. This recipe has all the goodies; peanut butter, chocolate chips, icing, and chocolate sprinkles. Shaped into a football and served with pretzels this recipe is sure to be a party hit!
