Westfield Parks and Recreation has teamed up with City Spring Church to bring you a wonderful family event called Movies in the Park at Asa Bales Park. This free event will be on Friday nights (see below for movie schedule) and the movies will begin right after sunset. What a great way to spend time with the family. You will want to bring either blankets or chairs to sit on and cuddle up while watching the movie. Plus bring your own snacks (check recipe below) to enjoy under the stars. Parking will be available across the street at Westfield High School. So grab your friends and family or that special someone and make these Friday summer nights family friendly date nights!

A Twist on Popcorn: (perfect movie snacks!)
Chili Lime Popcorn: Toss 10 cups of popped popcorn with melted butter to taste. Then mix in 1 teaspoon of chili powder and 2 teaspoons of fresh lime zest. Toss and enjoy!
Chocolate Drizzle Popcorn: Spread cups of popcorn on a baking sheet. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave 1-2 cups chocolate chips until smooth and melted, stirring frequently. Using a back and forth motion, drizzle chocolate over popcorn. Sprinkle with sea salt, if desired, then refrigerate until set and break apart.
Italian Herb and Cheese Popcorn: Keep 10 cups popcorn warm in a 200°F oven. Melt 2-4 tablespoons butter, then stir in 1-2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Toss with still-warm popcorn.
